Why Pathology? Pathology is the basic science that underpins most of medicine - understanding the pathology and pathophysiology of disease makes it easier to remember signs, symptoms and treatments. It makes it easier to form differential diagnoses. The articles below add considerable detail (in certain areas) to what is found on the main part of the site. They have been subdivided into histology (what is normal), pathology (how disease changes what is normal) and a section on postmortem examination. Before these is a section on the topics most likely to be found in earlier examinations. |
